Terms and conditions

Version July 2026 · Sati Psychologie · Jasper von Richthofen, MSc · Psycholoog NIP (member no. 242129) · Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) 71982787 · De Bilt

These terms apply to all services of Sati Psychologie and form part of the treatment agreement we enter into at the start of a trajectory. Do you have questions? Feel free to get in touch at info@satipsychologie.nl. This is an English translation for your convenience; the Dutch version prevails in the event of any discrepancy.

1. The service

Sati Psychologie is an online practice for adults (18 years and older) with mild to moderate mental health issues. Treatment is based on cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), EMDR therapy and mindfulness. Sessions last 45 minutes and take place online via a secure video connection. Treatment is provided by Jasper von Richthofen, MSc, Psycholoog NIP (member no. 242129), in accordance with the NIP code of conduct and the statutory frameworks of the Dutch Wkkgz and WGBO healthcare acts.

This is private care that is not reimbursed by health insurers: no referral is needed and no diagnostic information is shared with health insurers. The practitioner is not a BIG-registered healthcare provider; the treatment does not fall under insured care within the meaning of the Dutch Health Insurance Act (Zorgverzekeringswet).

2. The treatment agreement

When the intake begins, a treatment agreement comes into being within the meaning of the Dutch Medical Treatment Agreements Act (WGBO). You are entitled to understandable information about the treatment, its expected duration and the costs, and nothing happens without your consent (informed consent). In turn, you provide, to the best of your knowledge, the information needed for the treatment, such as relevant medication use, previous treatments and changes in your situation. The treatment is a best-efforts obligation, not an obligation to achieve a result: care is taken to provide a careful, scientifically grounded treatment, but no guarantee can be given as to achieving goals.

3. Appointments, cancelling and rescheduling

  • Cancelling or rescheduling is free of charge up to 24 hours before the appointment, by email or WhatsApp.
  • In the case of cancellation within 24 hours or failure to attend an appointment (no-show), the full session fee is charged, because the time was reserved for you. With a package, the session then lapses.
  • If a technical problem prevents you from joining the session, contact me immediately; we will find a solution together and reschedule free of charge if needed.

4. Fees and payment

  • The current fees are listed with the therapy fees and are exempt from VAT. A change in fees is announced at least one month in advance; for packages already purchased, the fee at the time of purchase applies.
  • Invoices are sent by email and must be paid within 30 days of the invoice date.
  • If payment is not made, you will first receive a reminder with a 14-day term. After that, collection measures may be taken; the statutory extrajudicial collection costs are then borne by the client. In the event of a payment arrears, treatment may be suspended until the payment obligation has been met, unless careful care provision precludes this.
  • Session packages are invoiced in advance. The 5-session package is valid for 6 months and the 12-session trajectory for 12 months, counted from the purchase date.

5. Confidentiality and records

Everything you share in treatment is covered by professional confidentiality. No information is shared with third parties without your explicit, written consent, except where the law requires it (for example in the case of acute and serious danger). Under the WGBO, a treatment record is kept, which is retained for 20 years counted from the end of the treatment. You have the right to inspect and receive a copy of your record; see the privacy statement for how your data is handled.

6. Limits of care and crisis

The practice is set up for mild to moderate issues and does not provide crisis or emergency care. In a crisis or acute emergency, contact your GP (huisarts) immediately during office hours, or the out-of-hours GP service (huisartsenpost) outside them; call 112 if lives are at risk, and for thoughts of suicide contact 113 Suicide Prevention (call 113 or 0800-0113). If, during the intake or treatment, it turns out that another form of care is a better fit, you will be actively helped with advice or a referral.

7. Continuity and cover

In the event of short-term illness or holidays, the session is rescheduled free of charge. For continuity in case of longer-term absence, a cover arrangement with a fellow psychologist is being set up; once this is in place, the covering practitioner will be named on this page.

8. Termination

The treatment ends: (a) by mutual agreement, when the goals have been achieved or no further sessions are needed; (b) when you indicate you want to stop, which is always possible; (c) unilaterally by the practitioner, with reasons stated, when continuation cannot reasonably be required of the practitioner or when your question is better treated elsewhere; in that case you will be carefully referred on; (d) automatically when no new appointment has been made for more than three months after the last session, unless agreed otherwise. If a package is ended part-way, the sessions used are settled at the single-session rate and the remainder is refunded.

9. Liability

The treatment is carried out with care and professionalism. Sati Psychologie is not liable for damage arising from incorrect or incomplete information provided by the client. Any liability is limited to the amount paid out by the professional or business liability insurance in the case concerned.

10. Complaints

Not satisfied with something? Discuss it first; often we can resolve it together. In addition, the practice complies with the Wkkgz through the NIP complaints procedure: you can call free of charge on an independent complaints officer, and afterwards, if needed, on a recognised disputes committee. You can read how this works on the complaints procedure page.

11. Changes

These terms may be amended. The current version is always on this page; in the case of substantive changes you will be informed during an ongoing trajectory.
